About the WIL Ambassadors Program

WIL Ambassadors promote and support Women in Leadership. WIL Ambassadors are responsible for communicating the Association's purpose as well as relevant topics affecting our current and future workplace. Ambassadors have the opportunity to share their interest in WIL's mission and experiences with diversity in the workplace with the rest of the Schulich community. WIL Ambassadors aim to increase the exposure of WIL and raise awareness for the topics and conversations discussed in WIL's events including; Career Conversations & Connections ("C2") Panel, Past & Present Mixer, Diversity in Leadership and Inspire to Aspire Conference.

What's new about the Ambassador program for this year?

A new rotational program aims to increase members' awareness on how relevant topics affect our current and future work through a variety of social outlets, including WIL events, social media, and coffee chats. Ambassadors will rotate through a few roles:

  1. Content Creator: produce opinion/reflection text or video pieces(2) Content Curators: develop an "Ambassadors' List" of recommendations on relevant articles in the media/scholarly published journals for members to read, and (3) Conversation Starters: initiate conversations with event attendees to create a welcoming atmosphere. Ambassadors are responsible for developing and, as significant, sharing their work with the Schulich community and their social networks.
  2. Content Curators: develop an "Ambassadors' List" of recommendations on relevant articles in the media/scholarly published journals for members to read
  3. Conversation Starters: initiate conversations with event attendees to create a welcoming atmosphere. Ambassadors are responsible for developing and, as significant, sharing their work with the Schulich community and their social networks.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a voice of WIL within the Schulich community through promoting the WIL brand and purpose.
  • Attend the WIL events and become acquainted with the WIL community through networking with alumni, industry attendees, WIL members and fellow WIL executives.
  • Reflect on past/current workplace experiences to develop content and insightful recommended read lists to share with WIL members on a monthly basis.
  • Support the ongoing operations of WIL portfolio teams including marketing and events through promoting and attending upcoming WIL events.

Membership is required to apply. Applications are due Sunday October 6th at 11:59pm.
